Cross-sections for formation of activation products induced by protons on natural mercury targets were measured. Results for (196m,196g197g)(cum), (198m),(198g,199g)(cum), (200g)(cum), 201,(202Tl), (194s)(cum), (195g)(cum), (196g)(curn), (198m,199g)(cum) Au and Hg-195m,Hg-197m,Hg-203 are presented up to 65 MeV incident particle energy, many of these for the first time. The experimental data are compared with literature values and with the predictions of the TALYS 1.6 code (results taken from TENDL-2015 on-line library), thick target yields were derived and possible applications in biomedical sciences are discussed.
