This book is meant to be a source of inspiration for smart cities’ officials wishing to actively involving their citizens in shaping technologies, services and products aimed at improving their living environment. This guidebook supports municipalities to apply co-creation methods and tools through a step-by-step process. By drawing on empirical data and results gathered within international projects along with successful smart cities in Europe, the approach chosen in writing this book is deliberately practical, combining an extensive study of the available literature with the analysis of successful practices in real cities’ contexts.
