Flanders Make is the strategic research centre for the manufacturing industry. In it, Flanders’ DRIVE, Flanders’ Mechatronics Technology Centre (FMTC) and laboratories of the 5 Flemish universities join forces to set up a top-level research network in Flanders. Flanders Make focuses on product and process innovation in close cooperation with companies from the Flemish manufacturing industry. Technological research and innovation in the field of mechatronics, product development methods and production technologies, all driven by the challenges and needs of the industry, provide the basis for this. This will, as a first step, result in actual applications for machines, vehicles, vehicle components and high-tech production systems for the participating companies. Within Flanders Make, ETEC/VUB Leads the department of Power Electronics and Energy storage and is involved in the Clean Energy-efficient Motion Research Priority.
