Framework 5 Programme: energy, environment and sustainable development, Key action 6: Economic and efficient energy for a competitive Europe, work programme areas 6.1.5 and 6.1.6 also applicable to Key ACtion 4: City to tomoorow and cultural heritage, work programme area 4.4.2 Expected result: Zero emission personal 2-wheel vehicle for city driving, as summarised below, assuming primary energy efficiency of 33% based on simiulations and modeling by VUB. It can be seen that PRAZE vehicle is expected to have a primary energy sfficiency significantly better than both thermal scooter and Peugeot Motocycles's existing electric scooter. Two potential savings of overall energy resources are anticipated: - the PRAZE vehicle has a better energy effeciency than Peugeot Motocycles's existing electric scooter . - More people will convert from a thermal to an electric scooter due to the improved cost and range. Approach: the development of PRAZE will be guided by Peugeot Motocycles's unique experience in their existing, commercially available electric scooter product. PRAZE will use PML Flightlink's innovative new wheel motor drive system, incorporating a high efficiency brushless motor inside the wheel. The system eliminates transmission and gears, improving efficiency, and frees space in the vehicle body.
