The Nanoforce SIBO program as a whole focuses on lightweight and multi-functional polymer-steel (fibre/cord/plate) hybrids and composites based on aligned carbon nanotubes (aCNTb's) to allow for breakthrough materials resulting in
* Energy Savings ( through novel lightweight structural materials)
* Optimal use of natural resources (by reducing energy consumption during manufacturing and use of products made out of these hybrids and composites)
* Increasing and predictable durability and life-cycle performance
* Reduced Life-Cycle Impact and improved Recyclability

Within the SIBO "NanoForce", the SBO "NaPoS" (Nano-Engineered Polymer-Steel Hybrids) will focus on structural hybrid materials, more specifically on steel fibres or plates/sheets combined with (thermoset or thermoplastic) polymers.
