  My master's study at Tokyo Metropolitan University focused on R chondrites which represent one of the undifferentiated meteorite groups. This study was conducted with a focus on trace element concentrations, especially the rare earth elements (REEs), Th and U. A chemical leaching technique was applied as an analytical procedure in the study. Isotope dilution Q-ICP-MS and ICP-AES were used as measurement methods. In a collaborative research project conducted at the National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR) in Japan, I dealt with FE-SEM/EDS, EPMA and LA-ICP-MS for the determination of the abundances of REEs, Th and U in constituent minerals in R chondrites. In the Summer of 2018, before enrolling in my current university and after graduating from my former university, I worked at the NIPR to characterize all of the Antarctic iron meteorites that NIPR curates, using LA-ICP-MS. I have also been trained in the application of ion chromatography before isotope analysis and in the use of SIMS and Raman spectroscopy through the Misasa International Student Intern Program. 

  My PhD project at the AMGC (Analytical, Environmental and Geo-Chemistry) research group of Vrije Universiteit Brussel is focused on the comparative petrographic, geochemical, and isotopic characterization of various Antarctic meteorites characterized by different degrees of aqueous alteration and thermal metamorphism, while at the same time comparing these meteorites to hot desert meteorites to quantitatively constrain any weathering effects. As a result, my project aims to better understand the effects of planetary processes on the Lu-Hf and Sm-Nd isotope systems in meteorites. In the framework of this study, various state-of-the-art analytical techniques (ICP-OES/AES, Q-ICP-MS, HR-ICP-MS, MC-ICP-MS, TIMS, LA-ICP-MS/TOF, micro-XRF, SEM-EDS and EPMA) are combined on both bulk meteorite samples and polished thick sections.
