Janna Aerts studied Linguistics and Literary Studies: Dutch and English at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and spent one semester at University College London in 2014. Since October 2015, she is working as a researcher at the VUB (affiliations to LIST, CLIC and SEL) on a project of the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) titled ‘Daily life and crisis in literary journals. A multiperspective reading of diaries written during the Second World War.’ In her research, she focuses on the interaction of daily life and authorship during the Second World War as described in the occupation diaries of Flemish authors such as August Vermeylen, Ernest Claes and Jan Walravens.
